Arizona Bishop Advocates for Marriage Equality Amid Potential Supreme Court Reversal
Arizona Bishop Jennifer Reddall has joined a campaign to protect marriage equality in the state, amid concerns that the U.S. Supreme Court might reverse its 2015 decision that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. The campaign, organized by ONE Community and Equality Arizona, aims to repeal a constitutional provision in Arizona that defines marriage as between a man and a woman. This provision, although invalidated by the Supreme Court's Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, could be reinstated if the court decides to end federal marriage protections. The campaign seeks to raise awareness and gather support for a future ballot initiative to remove this language from the state constitution.
