Chicago Police Chase Ends in Multiple Crashes, Injuring Four Including Two Officers
A police chase on Chicago's North Side on Friday night resulted in multiple crashes, leaving four individuals injured, including two police officers and a pedestrian. The incident began around 7:14 p.m. when Chicago Police Department officers located a red Toyota sedan matching the description of a stolen vehicle in the 2000 block of W. Birchwood Avenue in Rogers Park. Officers attempted to stop the car, but the driver refused to comply and fled the scene. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle collided with a CPD squad car. Shortly thereafter, the suspect car struck another light-colored Volkswagen SUV in the 7400 block of N. Sheridan Road. This collision caused the SUV to veer onto a curb, subsequently hitting a 24-year-old male pedestrian. The driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle were apprehended, and charges are currently pending.
