Texas Extends Workforce Pell Grant Application Window to Enhance Career Training
The state of Texas has extended the application period for the federal Workforce Pell Grant program, allowing more colleges and technical schools to submit eligible short-term training programs. This extension aims to increase access to affordable training that prepares Texans for high-demand careers in sectors such as construction, healthcare, and information technology. Governor Abbott highlighted the program's potential to provide Texans with industry-recognized credentials, leading to better job opportunities and economic mobility. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, in collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission, is overseeing the implementation of this program.
