Record-Tying Heat in Phoenix with Potential Weekend Rain
Phoenix is currently experiencing record-tying heat, as reported by AZFamily. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has also announced a two-year construction project to improve the I-10 interchange at Jackrabbit Trail in the West Valley. This project aims to enhance traffic flow by widening lanes, replacing bridges, and upgrading ramps. As part of the construction, lane closures are scheduled for this weekend, including the eastbound I-10 off-ramp and westbound I-10 on-ramp at Jackrabbit Trail, which will be closed from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 29. Southbound Jackrabbit Trail will also be closed between McDowell Road and Roosevelt Street during the same period. Detours will be available via the I-10 interchanges at Verrado Way and Perryville Road. Source time: Wed, 26 Aug 2026 19:52:21 GMT.
