Chelsea Police Investigate Human Skull Found at Goodwill, FBI Joins Probe
A human skull, initially dropped off at a Goodwill store in Chelsea, Michigan, earlier this year, has been determined not to be a medical or teaching specimen. The Washtenaw County Medical Examiner, aided by the University of Michigan Anthropology Department, identified the skull as belonging to an African American female, estimated to be between 20 and 49 years old at the time of death. The exact time of death remains unknown. Chelsea police stated that the skull is well-preserved, skeletonized, dry, and shows no signs of trauma or prior use as a medical or teaching aid. The investigation has now escalated, with the skull being transferred to the FBI crime lab in Quantico, Virginia, for further testing. Despite following up on over two dozen public tips, authorities have yet to identify the individual who donated the skull to the Goodwill store. Ofc. T.
