Monsoon Brings Dust, Rain, and Cooler Temperatures to Arizona
Arizona is experiencing active monsoon weather, bringing dust storms, rain, and a slight drop in temperatures. Phoenix, which recently endured an extreme heat warning, saw a high of 108°F (42°C) on Monday, with temperatures expected to continue decreasing below 110°F (43°C) through Thursday. Strong storms in southern Arizona and the high country have the potential to create dust storms in Pinal and Maricopa counties, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected overnight. Cooler and cloudier conditions are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, while drier weather is anticipated statewide over the weekend. The monsoon season has also heightened the risk of flash flooding, hail, and damaging winds in some areas.
