Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force Identifies Juvenile in Snapchat Threat Investigation
The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force (ACSCTF) has identified a juvenile responsible for sending threatening messages to students via Snapchat and other social media platforms. The investigation began on Thursday after multiple students reported receiving threats. The individual, who identified themselves as 'Cat in the Hat,' also used AI-generated images in some of the messages. The ACSCTF clarified that the school itself was not directly threatened, but the messages were directed at individual students. Detectives obtained warrants and contacted Snapchat through its law enforcement portal to gather information and evidence, leading to the identification of the juvenile on Saturday afternoon. The ACSCTF stated that the matter is being handled accordingly, and the juvenile's parents are cooperating with investigators. Due to the suspect's age, their identity will not be publicly disclosed by the police.
