Stolen Kia Driven by 13-Year-Old Crashes in Germantown, Maryland, Killing One
In Germantown, Maryland, a fatal crash involving a stolen vehicle resulted in the death of one man and injuries to seven children. The incident occurred at the intersection of Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway. The vehicle, a Kia Optima, was stolen and driven by a juvenile, with no adults present. The children, aged 12 to 15, were not legally permitted to drive. The crash involved a collision with a blue Toyota Matrix, whose driver was killed. The juvenile driver of the Kia is in critical but stable condition, while the other children were hospitalized. The crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn and catch fire. The investigation is ongoing.
