King Tides and Heavy Rain Threaten South Florida
South Florida is experiencing a combination of king tides and increased tropical moisture, leading to a heightened risk of coastal and localized flooding. The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Broward and Miami-Dade counties until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, and for the Middle and Lower Florida Keys until 5 p.m. The Upper Florida Keys are under a coastal flood warning until 5 p.m. High tide is expected at 11:13 a.m. in Miami, 11:30 a.m. in Fort Lauderdale, and 12:48 p.m. in Key West. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also expected to bring heavy downpours, further increasing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas. Rain chances will continue to rise through Thursday, with temperatures reaching the mid- to upper 80s (29–31°C).
