City of Chesapeake Launches 'Spread the Love' Peanut Butter and Jelly Donation Drive for Local Foodbanks
The City of Chesapeake has initiated a regional 'Spread the Love' challenge, encouraging residents to donate jars of peanut butter and jelly. This donation drive aims to support the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, as well as the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, by directly stocking their shelves. The collection period for donations will run through September 30. Multiple drop-off locations have been established across the city, including City Hall and various other city facilities, to facilitate community participation. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address food insecurity in the region, with the City of Chesapeake accepting a challenge to collect the most donations.
