Fire Destroys Jaws Souvenirs Store in Panama City Beach, Causes Road Closures
A significant structure fire occurred at Jaws Souvenirs, a popular souvenir store located on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach, Florida. Firefighters from multiple agencies, including Bay County Fire Rescue, Panama City Beach Fire Rescue, and Panama City Fire Rescue, responded to the incident. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office was also on scene to manage traffic, leading to the closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes of Thomas Drive between Upas Street and Walnut Street. Officials have confirmed that the building is a "total loss." The City of Panama City Beach’s Fire Chief, Ray Morgan, stated that the State Fire Marshal is en route to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire. The incident prompted an emergency response early Friday morning, with authorities asking drivers to avoid the affected area.
