Austin Rogers, the Republican nominee for Florida's 2nd Congressional District (CD 2), is facing questions regarding his primary residence as he campaigns to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn. Rogers' campaign states he and his wife have 'returned home to Panama City to raise their family.' However, property records indicate that Rogers and his wife, Hala, purchased a home in Alexandria, Virginia, in 2022 for $1.225 million and remain its owners. Furthermore, Hala Rogers is listed as one of two practicing physicians at Nova Dermatology Specialists in Lorton, Virginia, and a phone recording at the office still identifies it as her practice. When Austin Rogers shifted his voter registration back to Florida, he listed a rental home. His campaign spokesman, Michael Stwarka, clarified that Rogers was born and raised in the Panhandle, and his wife has signed a contract with a dermatology practice in the Panhandle, with the family traveling between Virginia and Florida as she completes her part-time contract.
