Joe Strada Poised to Become Wealthiest Member of U.S. Congress Following Florida Election
Joe Strada, a Florida HVAC mogul, is projected to become the wealthiest member of the U.S. Congress if he wins the upcoming election in Florida's 11th Congressional District. Strada secured the Republican nomination last month after a close machine recount. The district, which includes The Villages, a large retirement community, has historically leaned Republican, with President Trump carrying it 57% to 42% in 2024 under new boundaries. Strada has personally invested $5 million into his campaign, significantly more than his Democratic opponent's $120,000. Forbes estimates Strada's net worth at $800 million, primarily from his company, Strada Services, which he co-founded in 2003. The company, which installs and services electrical, air-conditioning, plumbing, and security systems, reported $534 million in revenue in 2025 and employs over 4,000 people across 13 states. Strada owns a 45% stake in the business, with private equity firm Trilantic North America holding a 55% stake since 2021.
