Amanda Marie Green Raises Over $500,000 in Florida's 2nd Congressional District Race
Democratic nominee Amanda Marie Green has announced that her campaign has raised over $500,000 since she entered the race for Florida’s 2nd Congressional District last year. This fundraising milestone, achieved ahead of a November showdown with Republican Austin Rogers, represents a significant increase of more than $150,000 from the previous Federal Election Commission (FEC) reporting period. Through July 29, Green reported over $348,000 in total receipts, with $340,000 coming from individual contributions. Her campaign emphasized that this achievement was made without relying on personal wealth, as FEC records show no candidate loans and only about $1,440 in candidate contributions. Green, a 32-year-old former foreign aid worker and first-time candidate, secured the Democratic nomination after winning 33.5% of the vote in a crowded primary. She has garnered support from prominent Democrats, including former U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd and state Representatives Gallop Franklin and Allison Tant.
