Margate Family Mourns Wife and Daughter Killed by Lightning Strike
A South Florida family is grieving the loss of a wife, Kenya Glasgow, 31, and her 2-year-old daughter, Kennedi, after they were fatally struck by lightning in Margate. The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 2:30 p.m. as the family of four was arriving at a relative's home for dinner and attempting to seek shelter from an approaching storm. Kameron Glasgow, the husband and father, reported feeling an electrical shock from the ground but survived. He described the devastating scene of finding his wife and daughter lifeless. Kenya and Kennedi are survived by Kameron and Kennedi's twin sister, Kensli. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with expenses. Doctors are advising the public to seek immediate shelter and get as low to the ground as possible during lightning storms, as lightning tends to strike the highest points.
