Pittsburgh Sushi Restaurant Faces Consumer Alert Over Health Violations
Maya Sushi, a restaurant located on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, has been issued a consumer alert by the Allegheny County Health Department. The alert was triggered by multiple repeat medium and high-risk violations identified during a reinspection. Inspectors found 18 violations, including issues with sushi rice acidification, improper food storage temperatures, and the presence of mouse droppings. These high-risk violations were also noted in a previous inspection in April. The restaurant has been instructed to address these issues, including securing pest control services and providing a sushi rice acidification plan, to have the alert removed.
