Polo’s Moisture Could Bring Flooding Across the Southwest
Moisture from Hurricane Polo is expected to fuel rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms across the Southwest and Plains this week. Parts of Texas and New Mexico could see 4–8 inches of rain from Monday through Friday, with locally higher totals potentially reaching 18 inches. The rain could provide drought relief across parts of Texas, Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado, but saturated ground and steep terrain raise the risk of dangerous flash flooding. Rain will spread eastward later in the week, reaching parts of the Midwest.
