U.S. Border Patrol Rescues Three Individuals from Locked Rail Car Near U.S.-Mexico Border
U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Del Rio Sector, near Knippa, Texas, rescued three individuals who were found locked inside an autorack freight car. The individuals, identified as one Mexican national, one Nicaraguan, and one Honduran, were concealed within the beds of pickup trucks inside the rail car. This incident occurred on September 7, following a canine alert during an inspection of a stationary freight train. This marks the second such rescue in recent weeks at the same location, with a previous incident on August 30 involving eight individuals. Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony “Scott” Good emphasized the tragic historical outcomes of attempting illegal entry via trains and urged against such dangerous actions.
