Beto O'Rourke Joins Gina Hinojosa in El Paso to Rally Support for Texas Gubernatorial Campaign
Former U.S. Representative Beto O'Rourke participated in a town hall event in El Paso on August 31, 2026, alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa. O'Rourke also engaged with students during a campaign stop at the University of Texas at El Paso. These events were organized by the UTEP College Democrats and the Gina for Texas campaign, aiming to galvanize support for a 'blue wave' in Texas. Hinojosa's campaign is focusing on critical issues such as data centers, education, and corruption. This visit follows recent polls indicating a virtual tie between Hinojosa and incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott in the race for Texas governor. Governor Abbott also recently visited El Paso to discuss education and school district budgets, making two visits to the city in August to address various state issues.
