U.S. Rep. Stansbury Raises Concerns Over Project Jupiter Data Center's Water Usage in New Mexico
U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury has voiced significant concerns regarding the water consumption of the Project Jupiter data center in New Mexico, particularly during its construction phase. She highlighted that the amount of water allocated for the project's construction, approximately 782 million gallons annually, is equivalent to irrigating 2,000 to 3,000 acres of green chiles or supplying about 30,000 New Mexicans. Stansbury has called for an immediate inquiry into the long-term water usage plans of Project Jupiter and emphasized the need for greater transparency and public involvement in decisions concerning such large-scale water projects.
