Veronica Escobar, a Democratic representative for Texas, has successfully secured $1.1 million in community project funding designated for critical infrastructure upgrades at the University Medical Center (UMC) in El Paso. This federal allocation is specifically aimed at the Alberta Avenue stormwater and domestic water improvement project located at the main UMC campus. The necessity for these significant upgrades stems from the deterioration of existing infrastructure, including a section of asphalt pavement that failed due to a washout from an aging stormwater line.
