Partial Solar Eclipse to Be Visible in New York on August 12, 2026
On August 12, 2026, New Yorkers will have the opportunity to witness a partial solar eclipse. While the eclipse will be visible across parts of the United States, New York will not experience totality. The total solar eclipse will be visible in parts of Europe and Africa, including Spain. The event follows the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse, which was observed by millions across the United States. According to NASA, the August 12 eclipse will be visible from 26 states and Washington, D.C. The eclipse will begin in New York at approximately 12:51 p.m. and end around 2:45 p.m. The amount of the sun covered will vary depending on the location within the state.
