Wylie Community Remembers Marine Recruit Aiden Craig After Tragic Death During Training
The community of Wylie, Texas, gathered for a candlelight vigil at Wylie Stadium to honor Aiden Craig, an 18-year-old Marine recruit who tragically died earlier this month during Marine Corps recruit training in California. Craig, a 2026 graduate of Wylie High School, was remembered by friends, teammates, and community members as a natural-born leader on the football field, in the classroom, and throughout his community. Friends, some of whom had known him since preschool, expressed their pride in his accomplishments and his decision to join the Marines. The vigil featured prayers, songs, and shared memories, reflecting on the significant impact Craig made in his short life. The circumstances surrounding Craig's death are currently under investigation, and the Marine Corps will also conduct a medical review.
