Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Seeks Public Assistance in Fatal Hit-and-Run Investigation
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) is appealing to the public for help in identifying the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred early Wednesday morning. A pedestrian was struck and killed on Capper Road, near the intersection of Wingate and Capper roads, just east of the Florida State College at Jacksonville North Campus. The incident took place around 3 a.m. The victim was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. A witness reported seeing a dark SUV flee the scene, heading on Capper Road towards Lem Turner Road, without stopping to render aid or provide information. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact First Coast Crime Stoppers or JSO Crime Tips to assist with the ongoing investigation.
