Old Farmer’s Almanac Predicts Snowier-Than-Normal Winter for Parts of the U.S.
The Old Farmer's Almanac Winter Forecast for 2026-27 predicts a mixed winter across the United States. While much of the country is expected to experience milder temperatures, certain regions, including the Northeast, Appalachians, Intermountain West, Pacific Northwest, and Alaska, are forecast to face colder-than-normal conditions and above-average snowfall. Southern New England and northern Appalachians are likely to see particularly snowy stretches in mid-December, mid-January, and March. The Pacific Northwest is expected to have a wet winter with above-normal precipitation and snowfall, while Alaska may receive more snow despite warmer-than-average temperatures. Meanwhile, the Southeast, Deep South, Florida, Texas, and the Desert Southwest are forecast to experience warmer and drier conditions, with below-average snowfall in areas that typically receive snow.
