Utah Man Dies After Collapsing During Booking at Wyoming Jail
Tyson J. Alvares, a 38-year-old man from Smithfield, Utah, died after collapsing in a holding cell at the Lincoln County Jail in Wyoming. Alvares was being booked following his arrest at the Oyster Ridge Music Festival on charges including possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct. Despite life-saving efforts by detention officers, Alvares could not be revived. Prior to his collapse, he had admitted to using a controlled substance and was cleared by emergency medical technicians. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is conducting an investigation into the in-custody death.
