Coastal Flood Advisory for Los Angeles Beaches
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a coastal flood advisory for Los Angeles County beaches, including Long Beach, Malibu, Zuma Beach, and Catalina Island. The advisory is in effect from Wednesday, October 7, at 6 a.m. through Friday, October 9, at 11 p.m. Minor coastal flooding, elevated surf, and dangerous rip currents are expected during this period. The advisory also warns of moderate flooding in low-lying coastal areas, particularly during high tide, which could impact beach parking lots, bike paths, and harbor walkways. Moderate beach erosion is anticipated, and there is an increased risk of ocean-related hazards, including rip currents and waves that could wash people off beaches or rocks.
