Grand Forks City Council Approves Measures for Potential Fourth Valley Senior Living Facility
The Grand Forks City Council has given preliminary approval to several action items paving the way for a potential fourth Valley Senior Living facility near Duke Drive and South 34th Street. These approvals include replatting a lot in Medvue Estates Second Addition to split it, and introducing and preliminarily approving an ordinance to rezone the addition for multi-family residences and scaled senior housing and care facilities. Garth Rydland, president and CEO of Valley Memorial Homes, stated that these steps are crucial as they prepare to purchase the property and ensure it can be utilized to best serve the community. Valley Memorial Homes has already acquired six acres for the project and is negotiating to purchase an additional 17 acres from Altru Health System.
