Florida Driver Sentenced to 15 Years for Deadly Crash that Killed Teenager
A Florida driver, Issac Sales, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a crash that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Jaciey Hogan. The sentencing occurred on Friday, bringing an emotional close to a more than year-long legal process for Hogan's mother, Trisha Johnson. Sales was driving 40 mph over the speed limit when his car, with Hogan as a passenger, collided with an SUV on Gladiolus Drive. The crash happened as they were en route to school. The other driver involved, Dylan Parsons, also spoke in court, detailing the extensive injuries he sustained, including a broken back, hip, leg, ribs, and spleen, and the significant financial burden it caused him. Despite the state attorney recommending a 13-year sentence, the judge imposed a 15-year prison term. Sales offered an apology in court to Johnson and others affected by the incident.
