Reno Man Arrested, Fentanyl Worth Over $30,000 Seized After Month-Long Investigation
Damion Thompson, a 28-year-old Reno man, has been arrested following a month-long undercover fentanyl investigation conducted in the Reno and Sparks metropolitan area. The investigation, led by the Regional Narcotics Unit and the Northern Nevada Drug Task Force, with assistance from K-9 units from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and Reno Police Department, culminated in Thompson's apprehension. Detectives observed Thompson engaging in numerous hand-to-hand narcotics transactions in the vicinity of Neil Road and Moana Lane in Reno. Upon his arrest, law enforcement officials seized 205.70 grams gross weight of fentanyl and a loaded gun. The Drug Enforcement Administration estimates the seized fentanyl to have a street value exceeding $30,000, which is equivalent to nearly 103,000 lethal doses.
