West Allis Hale Football Coaches Placed on Leave, Several Resign Amid Investigation
Several high school football coaches at Nathan Hale High School in West Allis have been placed on administrative leave, and an additional number have resigned, just days before the team's first game. According to letters sent to parents by Principal Matthew Lesar, the district is conducting a "confidential personnel investigation." The initial notice on August 6 stated that several coaches were on leave, and a subsequent letter on August 10 confirmed that some had decided not to return for the season. A source close to the situation indicated that five coaches were initially placed on leave, and these five, along with two others, resigned, leaving only four of the team's eleven coaches remaining. The district has not provided details regarding the cause of the departures or the nature of the investigation, emphasizing its confidential personnel status. The team's defensive coordinator has assumed the role of interim head coach.
