Paramedics Perform Blood Transfusion on Plane Crash Victim in Vicksburg
A small plane crash in Vicksburg, Michigan, resulted in serious injuries to a 55-year-old pilot and a 13-year-old passenger. The crash occurred near East W Avenue, and emergency responders found the plane in a cornfield. A new program by Life EMS allowed paramedics to perform a blood transfusion on one of the victims at the scene before airlifting them to a hospital. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash, and authorities have asked the public to avoid the area.
