Regional Transit Authority Expands Express Bus Service Between Detroit and Ann Arbor Due to Increased Rider Demand
The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) announced an expansion of its D2A2 Express Bus service connecting Detroit and Ann Arbor. Starting September 8, the RTA will introduce additional weekday and weekend pickup and drop-off times in both directions. This decision comes in response to a sustained increase in rider demand for travel options between the two cities. Ben Stupka, executive director of the RTA, stated that the new trips aim to enhance the reliability of the D2A2 service for commuters, students, and individuals traveling for work, school, or leisure. The expansion includes several new early morning and evening weekday trips, as well as new weekend routes. Concurrently, the RTA will conclude its Summer Midnight Run schedule, which offered late-night weekend nonstop service, on September 6.
