Kenosha Resident Seeks City Intervention for Deteriorating Alley Conditions
Duane O'Keefe, a resident of Kenosha, Wisconsin, has brought attention to the severely deteriorated alley behind his home near 39th Street and 14th Avenue. O'Keefe reports that he has repeatedly contacted the city's Public Works Department four times since July and his alderperson three times to request repairs for the potholes and uneven gravel. He notes that the city typically performs maintenance on the alley by July, including dumping and smoothing gravel, but this year, the routine maintenance did not occur. The current condition of the alley, with potholes estimated to be six to seven inches deep, makes driving uncomfortable and has caused O'Keefe physical discomfort. After O'Keefe reached out to TMJ4 News, the city's Public Works Department confirmed that his address has been added to the alley maintenance list, though no specific repair date has been provided.
