Two Dearborn Police Officers Shot, Suspect Arrested After Gunfight in Dearborn Heights
Two Dearborn police officers were shot and wounded, and a suspect was arrested, following a gunfight in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, early Friday morning. The incident began when Dearborn police responded to a report of an armed suspect arguing with people at the Pantheon Nightclub. The suspect, who was allegedly brandishing a weapon, refused to cooperate with police and fled in a flatbed tow truck. Officers pursued the vehicle, eventually handing off the pursuit to plainclothes special operations officers. The suspect was followed to a Citgo gas station at Van Born and Inkster, where officers attempted to arrest him. The suspect then opened fire on the plainclothes officers, striking two of them. Officers returned fire, and the suspect, who was also wounded, fled again before surrendering in Inkster.
