Rep. Lisa McClain Highlights Voter Turnout Importance in Michigan GOP Campaign
U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Bruce Township) participated in a campaign event alongside John James, a Republican candidate for Michigan's gubernatorial race. The event, held in Harrison Township, focused on rallying support against the Democratic ticket. McClain emphasized the significance of voter turnout in the upcoming election, describing it as a 'turnout election.' The event was part of a series of campaign stops leading up to the primary election, with James hosting a 'Primary Eve Party' and Perry Johnson, another candidate, holding a rally in Novi. Johnson, who has invested heavily in his campaign, expressed confidence in his financial strength to challenge Democratic incumbent Jocelyn Benson. He criticized James for lacking financial resources, despite James leading in polls and having President Trump's endorsement.
