Southern California is experiencing temperatures 20°F above average, coupled with rare humidity levels, making conditions particularly severe. On Wednesday, the heat index is forecast to reach 113°F (45°C) in Los Angeles, 102°F (39°C) in San Diego, and 116°F (47°C) in Indio, California. This heat wave is also expanding eastward, with heat indices expected to soar to 106°F (41°C) in Dallas and Little Rock, Arkansas; 105°F (40°C) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 104°F (40°C) in Memphis, Tennessee; and 102°F (39°C) in Louisville, Kentucky.
