Michigan Sees Surge in Early Voting and Absentee Ballots Ahead of Primary
Michigan is experiencing a significant increase in early voting and absentee ballot returns ahead of its primary election on August 4. Over 830,000 residents have already cast their votes, with in-person early voting turnout up by 78% compared to the 2024 primary. The state reports that more than 1.9 million voters have requested mail ballots, marking a 58.8% increase in requests and a 36% rise in returned ballots compared to the same period in 2022. This surge reflects a growing trend towards early and absentee voting, facilitated by Michigan's voting laws that allow for multiple voting methods.
