Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Warns of Bus Delays Due to Driver Shortage
Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools are facing a significant shortage of bus drivers as the new school year approaches. Out of 237 routed buses, 42 currently lack drivers, which is expected to cause delays, particularly in the first few weeks of school. Tisha Davidson, the Executive Director of Transportation, advised students to arrive at bus stops 10 minutes early and encouraged parents to use the Edulog bus tracking app. The district is actively working to improve the app's functionality and has extended job offers to seven additional drivers. However, a nationwide shortage of bus drivers continues to pose challenges.
