Congresswoman Kat Cammack Donates Laptops and Books to Ocala Dementia Education Center
Congresswoman Kat Cammack visited the Empath Dementia Education and Care Center in Ocala, Florida, to donate laptops and books. This initiative aims to enhance dementia education and provide resources for individuals living with dementia, their families, and caregivers. The Empath Dementia Education and Care Center, which opened in March, serves as a central hub offering an adult day center, caregiver education classes, and programs designed to improve understanding of how dementia impacts communication and behavior. Rochelle Kelly Wristen, executive director of the Empath Hospice of Marion County Foundation, highlighted that while resources may exist in the community, awareness of their availability is often a challenge. The donated computers and books are expected to help the center educate more people about dementia and connect families with necessary support.
