Internet Campaign Spreads Misinformation on Green Bay's Cost of Living
An internet campaign, primarily on TikTok, has been spreading misleading and false information regarding the cost of living in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A TikTok user, identified as Connor Printz, posted over 100 videos under the username @lifewithjacob1, claiming that rent in Green Bay was over $4,000 and gas prices were nearly $7 a gallon. These claims are significantly higher than actual average prices, with Green Bay's average rent being a quarter of what was stated and gas prices peaking around $4.50 a gallon. Printz, a self-described 'user-generated content creator' based in Los Angeles, was found to have no evidence of ever living in Wisconsin, despite his TikTok bio claiming he was 'Green Bay born and raised.'
