Man Rescued After Being Trapped in Sand at Sandwich Beach
Emergency crews successfully rescued a man who became trapped in a large hole on a Cape Cod beach in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on Tuesday. The incident occurred between Sagamore Beach and Scusset Beach, where the hole caved in, burying the man above his waist. First responders, including local police departments, fire departments, Massachusetts State Police (MSP), Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), Department of Public Works (DPW), and MedFlight, worked for approximately an hour to free the individual from the sand. Bourne Police commended the coordinated response from the various agencies involved in the rescue operation.
