Illinois Department of Transportation Announces $118 Million in Will County Road and Bridge Projects
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that ten major road and bridge projects, totaling $118 million, are either planned or currently underway in Will County. These projects are part of Governor JB Pritzker's 'Rebuild Illinois' capital program. Three of these projects are slated for completion in 2024, with the remaining seven expected to be finished between 2025 and 2030. This investment is in addition to the ongoing $1.3 billion reconstruction of Interstate 80 through Joliet and a significant portion of Will County. The scope of work includes resurfacing and ADA improvements on U.S. 6, a bridge superstructure replacement on U.S. 30 at the Des Plaines River, and a traffic signal installation on Illinois 7 at Illinois 53.
