Trump Store in Crystal Lake Announces Closure, Owner Cites Political Climate
The Trump and Truth Store in Crystal Lake, Illinois, is closing its doors, as announced by owner Lisa Fleischmann on the store's Facebook page. Fleischmann's post, stating "Closing store! Libs win!!!", suggests a politically charged reason for the closure. This is not the first time the store has faced closure or relocation. Last year, Fleischmann moved the store to its current location at 829 S. Virginia Road in Crystal Lake after being evicted from a previous site in Huntley. While Fleischmann and her supporters attributed the Huntley eviction to the store's political nature, Huntley officials and the landlord's attorney maintained it was due to violations of local sign ordinances. The current reasons for the closure remain unclear, and attempts to reach Fleischmann for comment were unsuccessful. The store had previously experienced slow sales, which Fleischmann speculated might be due to President Trump supporters 'laying low' amid political tensions.
