Five Passengers Injured After Laptop Battery Fire on American Airlines Flight
An American Airlines flight from Atlanta, Georgia, to Dallas, Texas, experienced a laptop battery fire mid-flight, resulting in injuries to five passengers. The incident occurred on Friday evening on American Airlines flight 2398, which was carrying over 130 passengers. The pilot reported a 'cabin fire in the back of the airplane' to air traffic control. Flight attendants quickly responded to contain the device using a thermal containment bag. Upon landing safely at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), emergency services were on standby to assist the passengers, with one individual requiring medical attention. American Airlines confirmed the safe landing and commended its crew for their professional and swift response. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.
