Auburn Seeks Public Input for Minot Avenue Revitalization Plan
The city of Auburn is actively seeking input from residents and business owners regarding the revitalization of a key section of Minot Avenue, specifically from Court Street to the traffic circle. This area is identified as an important entrance to downtown with significant potential for improvement. The primary objectives of this initiative are to stimulate the local economy, enhance mobility for all users along the corridor, and ensure that future developments are strategically planned. Mayor Jeff Harmon highlighted that the current traffic patterns are not conducive to interaction with businesses or housing in the corridor. Residents and business owners have voiced concerns about abandoned buildings and a lack of connectivity to the downtown area, suggesting repurposing vacant properties for mixed-use housing or businesses, and adding bike lanes, pedestrian paths, or green spaces.
