Rochester Man Charged with Felony Burglary of Occupied Home While on Probation
Austin James Hall, a Rochester man, has been charged with felony first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling. The incident occurred on August 18, when Hall allegedly entered a family's home and stole items. Police responded to a call at approximately 5:30 a.m. after the homeowner, who was at work, observed someone entering the residence via a security system. Upon reviewing security footage, officers saw a man, later identified as Hall, ride a bike to the back door, take a pair of shoes, and then leave. An iPhone and charger were also reported missing. Hall was located later that morning in the 1500 block of 12th Street Southeast, allegedly wearing the stolen shoes and possessing the iPhone. Hall was on probation at the time, having recently pleaded guilty to interference with privacy-gaze, stare, or peep in window. He appeared in court on August 20, where he was assigned a $50,000 bail with or without conditions.
