New York State Department of Agriculture Seeks Administrators for Disadvantaged Farmers Grant Program
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, led by Commissioner Richard A. Ball, is seeking letters of interest from prospective program administrators for Round 3 of the Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Farmers Grant Program. This program, funded by the New York State Budget, aims to support farmers who face significant barriers to success in agriculture due to discrimination and limited access to resources. Eligible entities to administer the program include municipalities, public benefit corporations, local development corporations, or not-for-profit organizations with experience working with or representing socially and economically disadvantaged farmers. The selected administrator will manage a $2 million fund, awarding grants ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 on a competitive basis.
