Bethel Park Police Investigate After Kittens Thrown from Moving Vehicle, Resulting in Deaths
Bethel Park Police are actively investigating an incident where kittens were reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle, leading to their deaths. The department received multiple calls on a Saturday between 3:30 and 3:45 PM regarding an individual discarding 'items' from a vehicle in the areas of Connor Road, Old Connor Road, and Library Road. Upon investigation, these items were confirmed to be deceased kittens. Tracy Flaherty, manager of a local Dairy Queen, witnessed one kitten still alive after being thrown, which subsequently died after being moved to the roadside. The exact number of kittens and whether they were all alive when thrown has not been specified by the police. The incident has sparked outrage among animal welfare advocates, with Barb Brown, manager of Bailey's Cat Haven, describing it as 'horrific' and expressing disbelief at such an act. A reward of $500 has been offered by Cross Your Paws rescue for information leading to an arrest, with an additional $500 pledged by a volunteer.
