New York State Police have identified Ashton A. Kepler, a 17-year-old from Newark, Wayne County, as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred over the weekend. Kepler was riding westbound on Wood Lane when his motorcycle veered off the north side of the road and entered a ditch. He was discovered in a tree line near the motorcycle. Emergency responders administered life-saving measures at the scene before transporting him to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Kepler was a senior at Newark High School, actively involved in wrestling and football, and had plans to join the military after graduation.
